Our Managing Director, Mr. Vincent Pang recently hosted the webinar: “How to Prepare for Fundraising—Common Issues and Recommendations” under the SGS-AVISTA Business Enhancement Webinar Series.
 
Vincent covered the key issues for startup companies to take note of along the deal cycle, including decision process of investors, preparation for securing potential investors, introduction to startup valuation and term sheet, common issues of due diligence and also post-investment monitoring.

SGS-AVISTA Business Enhancement Webinar Series: “How to Prepare for Fundraising—Common Issues and Recommendations” 

AVISTA was pleased to be the Diamond Sponsor of The Hong Kong Independent Non-Executive Director Association (HKiNEDA) “Annual Conference—Business Valuation Standards in Hong Kong”.
 
The conference was successfully held on 19 November 2019 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It brought professional directors of financial services firms, regulatory bodies, and international corporates from the Greater China to provide in-depth global discussion and analysis in the context of Business Valuation in Hong Kong.
 
Areas such as the duties of INEDs as Gatekeepers, the business valuation standards in Hong Kong and around the world, the governance of valuation with Mandatory Performance Framework (MPF) and the responsibilities of stakeholders in business valuation in corporate transaction were covered.
 
Our Managing Director, Mr. Vincent Pang gave a keynote speech on “Impacts of the Proposed Valuation Standards to Stakeholders in Hong Kong”. He also sat on a panel to actively discuss and share his industry experience with other valuation experts and directors on the topic — “Need a set of Business Valuation Standards in Hong Kong?”

As the Guest Speaker of the “Course On Mergers & Acquisitions” at ET Business College

AVISTA Group was pleased to attend and sponsor the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS) Annual Corporate and Regulatory Update (ACRU) 2019.
 
The ACRU is an annual signature governance conference of HKICS, which gather business professionals to learn of the latest corporate and regulatory developments directly from speakers from the regulatory bodies in Hong Kong.
 
This year, the conference attracted more than 1,900 participants and invited regulators from HKEX, SFC and CR etc. to provide updates on disclosures and enforcement issues over listed issuers, expectations on the aspects of Corporate Governance (CG) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting as well as company centric law and anti-money laundering developments.

HKICS Annual Corporate Regulatory Update (ACRU) 

Our director of Risk Advisory Services, Mr. Ricky Ho was honored to be once again invited by the HKICS to host a re-run section of the seminar – “Directors’ &amp; Officers’ Duties in Various Situations”, which is previously held in February this year and was fully registered. Likewise, this seminar received a full-house registration with over 200 attendees.
 
Ricky illustrated the code provision for risk management and internal control requirements and explained the roles and duties of stakeholders in Merger and Acquisition transactions. He also shared the inside information and the updated Corporate Governance Code accompanied with several cases as well as examples on breach of directors’ statutory obligations.

As the Guest Speaker of the HKICS Seminar – “Directors’ & Officers’ Duties in Various Situations” (Re-Run Session)

Our Director of Risk Advisory Services, Mr. Ricky Ho was honored to be invited by the HKICS to speak on the topic of “Directors &amp; Officers’ Duties in Various Situations”. The seminar received a full-house registration with over 200 attendees.
 
Ricky illustrated the code provision for risk management and internal control, and the pros and cons of adopting in-house and outsourcing internal auditing respectively. He explained the roles and duties of several stakeholders including directors, financial adviser and valuer in a Merger &amp; Acquisition transaction. He also shared the insider information in the related aspects based on his professional industry experience and the update in Corporate Governance Code published by the HKEX.
